Beaumont Lodge Primary School

Beaumont Lodge & The Community

Beaumont Lodge Primary School recognises the importance of community.  We love working with local businesses and organisations on a variety of projects.

Gorse Hill City Farm

Our local city farm was recently in the news Leicester charity farm fears closure over hay shortage and rising costs - BBC News as they are struggling to manage in the current economic climate.  In the past, our ducklings were taken to Gorse Hill City Farm, which became their homes.  Our staff have been collecting money to donate.  Can you help?  If you can, log onto Scopay and make a donation or send your child to school with money in an envelope.  Thank you very much for your support!

Letters from George Hythe House

Just before Christmas, our Year 6 pupils spent some time reflecting on how Christmas can feel for different people in our community.  We then created Christmas cards and wrote messages in them to the residents at George Hythe House.  We were so pleased to receive replies from the residents!

Beaumont Leys Library

Angela Redfern from Beaumont Leys library visited our school recently to tell us about the summer reading challenge. It is a fantastic scheme that we encourage all our pupils to participate in! It supports your child in practising their reading skills during the break.

Free events at Beaumont Leys library

Beaumont Leys library is holding a range of events during the holidays – many of which are free! We encourage parents to access these sessions with their children!

Pepsico at Beaumont Lodge

We were lucky enough to be visited by a team from PepsiCo who helped develop areas of our school grounds.  The eco-committee was particularly grateful for their support in clearing the nature area.  The area looks much more welcoming and we are looking forward to seeing many more bees and insects in the area after the planting of bee-friendly flowers.

Pumpkin planting at Beaumont Shopping Centre

Our eco-committee visited the Beaumont Shopping Centre to plant pumpkin seedlings.  We will be receiving regular updates about the pumpkins.
