Hobbies and interests | I play table tennis badly and enjoy walking our dog, Bella, with my wife Sue. I am a season ticket holder at Stoke City FC (30+ years) and have followed my home team since I was a young boy. |
Links to the school/area | Between 2007 and 2008 I was the Executive Headteacher at Beaumont Lodge whilst also being the headteacher at Alderman Richard Hallam. I was also the School Improvement Partner for a number of years. |
Why did you become a governor? | I wanted to help Beaumont Lodge because since 2007 I have always held this school, above all others I have worked with, in the highest regard. |

Why did you become a governor? | I am passionate about education and want to support Beaumont Lodge in maintaining their high standards and development. |

Links to the school/area | I have been based with work in the area for years and I have had the luck of being involved on several activities supporting STEM at the school. |
Why did you become a governor? | I have enjoyed working with the school at each STEM activities in the past and I wanted to be more involved. I want to support the school and children as much as I can. |

Work | I am the Deputy head teacher and Year 6 teacher at Beaumont Lodge Primary School. I joined the Beaumont Lodge team in 2006 as a newly qualified teacher. |
Governance experience | I am a governor at a county infants school, where I hold the position of Chair of Governors. I joined the Governing Body at Beaumont Lodge after being a governor elsewhere as I feel I have transferrable skills that may support the governing body. |
Hobbies and interests | I have 2 amazing children (aged 5 and 10) who keep me busy with trips to the museums, parks and crafting. We love Disney films, so are often at the cinema for the latest releases! I love reading books- especially children’s books, which I then turn into scrapbook reviews. |
Links to the school/area | I have lived in Leicester since I was 11 years old. After qualifying as a teacher in Nottingham, I moved back to Leicester and began to work at Beaumont Lodge Primary School in 2006. I love the school so much that many years later – I am still working here! I love the Beaumont Lodge community. I am lucky to teach and be a part of each child’s learning journey as learn, develop, enjoy and succeed at Beaumont Lodge. |
Why did you become a governor? | The role of governor is different to my role in school. It means that I can be supporting the school, which I am very committed to, in a different way. I am very proud to be a part of the Beaumont Lodge team. |
